          Position Overview The Environmental Manager takes a lead role insuring organizational compliance with environmental regulations in areas that include but are not limited to air quality, water and solid waste management. This position will develop management systems to insure our operating policies drive compliance. This role will work closely with the Director of Environmental Compliance.

          •Adherence to the Company standard operating procedures for all compliance responsibilities.
          •Implement a strategy and culture of excellence in the areas of environmental protection
          •Implement practices that diminish risk and create a safe work environment
          •Ensure compliance with existing and developing EHS related regulatory requirements
          •Facilitate staff and management’s understanding of the impact of regulations and adherence on the Company

          Responsibilities * Clean air standards & regulations
          •Perform a variety of tasks to facilitate and maintain compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permits through explanation of permit terms and regulatory obligations, leadership, training and team building
          •Recommend appropriate action to assure conformance with federal, state, and municipal legislation and regulations regarding environmental or operational controls to minimize pollution
          •Coordinate, schedule and manage testing of emissions and pollution control equipment
          •Direct and manage consultants on environmental projects for EH
          •Serve as liaison between the organization and regulatory agencies regarding environmental inspections, permits, and reporting
          •Oversee all environmental projects and reporting for operating locations
          •Review all draft permits, final permits and regulations that affect the business for a particular plant
          •Conducting / coordinating environmental audits to monitor and assess risk
          •Development, oversight and facilitation of environmental management systems
          •Perform EHS incident investigations and root cause analysis

          •Assist in any other duties as determined by the director of EHS

          Requirements Candidate can live near Baltimore or Philadelphia

          •No direct reports
          •Possess strong work ethic
          •Superior interpersonal and written communication skills
          •Excellent reading and organizational skills
          •Detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks
          •Ability to work with minimal supervision
          •Strong computer skills; Word, Excel, Power Point
          •Ability to travel up to 50% of time when necessary
          •Thorough understanding of EPA regulations
          •Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations as they apply to industrial organizations
          •Knowledge of health and safety regulations
          •Ability to interface well with regulatory officials

          QUALIFICATIONS:
          •A Bachelor of Science Degree in related discipline required; post-graduate work in Environmental Management desirable
          •6+ years environmental experience in manufacturing environment, chemical manufacturing preferred
          •Professional certification preferred (QEP or other professional designation in the environmental field)
          •Experience developing, implementing and maintaining environmental management systems
          •Some experience managing health and safety programs is preferred
          •Strong time management, multi-tasking, problem solving and decision making skills
          •Strong organizational, project management and interpersonal skills
          •Effectively support and communicate environmental performance and reporting needs to all levels of operating locations and corporate management, as well as external stakeholders
