          Requires Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing and eighteen months of experience as a registered nurse. Pediatric ICU or Pediatric PACU experience required. Responsible for coordinating care for a group of patients for a designated time period to achieve clinical and organizational outcomes. Provides direct patient care based on the nursing process; provides direction to/manages other team members to promote quality and excellence of care. Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to optimize team performance. Promotes improvement in unit processes and systems to benefit patient care and achieve unit goals. May act in the absence of the Nurse Clinician (NC) III to oversee daily care for a group of patients, as assigned. Candidates must be eligible for Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland. Knowledge of nursing process. Social, behavioral and physical knowledge of current health care environment. Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality patient care. Ability to work in a fast paced university teaching hospital.
