Responsibilities
Implements programs and coordinates procedures related to the Corrective Action Program, Self Assessment Program, Benchmarking Program, Operating Experience Program, Observation Program and Trending Program. Individual provides subject matter expertise to the site in each of these areas
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1.)Assists with setting and reinforcing standards, and managing processes within the performance improvement unit business function. This includes monitoring of site root cause analysis efforts to ensure appropriate application of root cause analysis techniques.
2.)Controls and implements process improvements for Corrective Action Program, Self Assessment Program, Benchmarking, Operating Experience, Observation Program and Trending Program.
3.)Responsible for management and implementation of various performance improvement oversight committees such as MRC, CARB and the CR Screening Committee. Prepares summary reports for station and corporate management and oversight committees.
4.)Assists with the direction of the Root Cause Analysis Program and Self-Assessment Teams. On occasion will paricipate on on root cause and self assessment teams. Assists with investigations of significant plant events and transient events. Qualified in root cause investigtion process
5.)Lead and mentor Performance Improvement Coordinators (PICs)
6.)Leads Program Self-Assessment Coordinators in site groups and in establishing corrective actions.
7.)Utilizes various plant information/data base management systems to input and extract Condition Reports and other related information and to identify repetitive, precursors and/or generic failures. Provides solutions to identified adverse trends.
8.)Prepares periodic trending, observation and performance indicator reports. Provide assistance to organizations in data retrieval. Develop reports for end users using Access, Query Builder, Business Objects and other software as needed. Provides solutions to adverse trends.
9.)Assists Management in assessing and in directing the Self Assessment Program.
10.)Develops and conducts training to end users in assigned area as necessary. Identifies site root cause analysis training needs and provides training, as applicable. Performs periodic training of site personnel on the processes and requirements of performance improvement programs.
11.)Coordinates and maintains industry operating experience exchange between plant staff, INPO and other organizations. Manages activities associated with the assessment of industry operating experience Coordinates activities associated with issuing plant operating experience reports in accordance with site and INPO procedures.
12.)Acts as operating experience liaison between the plant, INPO and other outside organizations. Performs all Nuclear Network Coordinator, Operating Experience Coordinator and SEE-IN Coordinator duties per INPO requirements. Coordinates and maintains INPO specific hardware and software installations and repairs for the site.
13.)Independently interacts with various site and regulatory groups (e.g., QPAD, NRC, INPO) on questions or issues arising as a result of issue investigations. Acts as a liaison between end users and Information Technology and Applications Department concerning the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and associated hardware and software for performance improvement applications.
14.)Develops internal procedures for systems use/operation in accordance with corporate computing policies. Develop and document software requirements. Responsible for creating the Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) document.
Qualifications
Job Specifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree in a scientific or technical field is highly preferred, however, equivalent experience, technical knowledge and education may be considered. Eight years of nuclear power experience with good understanding of the Corrective Action Program, self assessments, benchmarking, operating experience and trending programs.
Physical Requirements:
1.Ability to meet and maintain unescorted access requirements of a nuclear power plant.
2.Ability to travel regularly.
3.Ability to work additional hours to support on-going plant operations and outages.
