Essential Job Functions
The objective of this effort is to build a UC lab for the testing and integration of SSA’s existing and future telecommunication technologies. This environment will ultimately provide the OTSO the ability to develop policies and procedures for implementing and maintaining an Enterprise UC environment
A UC lab will provide the opportunity to emulate and test the integration of these existing networks without affecting the production environment. It will give the OTSO a place to develop policies and procedures for not only establishing and implementing a UC network, but to continue the testing of future technologies that may be incorporated into a UC environment.
Experience with integrating Lync Server 2010 with the following Unified Communications Platforms including Cisco Tandberg Video Conferencing System (VCS) Controller and Cisco Tandberg VCS - Express or Polycom.
Experience with call admission control and session border control.
Experience with large scale video teleconferencing networks
Experience with large scale Voice over IP networks
Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and clients, with a background in Office Communication Server (Communicator and Live Meeting)
Experience and knowledge enabling internal and external AudioVideoWebTelephony conferencing, Call Admission Control and Session Border Control in Lync Server 2010.
Experience and knowledge enabling Lync Server 2010 Enterprise Voice, integrating with IP-PBX, Direct SIP and SIP Trunk.
Experience with VMware ESX and/or Microsoft Hyper-V server virtualization technology.
Experience with various networking and video protocols including Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), H.323, H.460, H.264, and RSVP network aware CAC.
Experience with Quality of Service (QoS)
Experience with UC features such as real-time presence and availability, IM chat, audio and video conferencing, and real-time collaboration.
Experience with Active Directory
Ability to provide hands-on technical expertise and guidance in the design, engineering, configuration, implementation, operation, maintenance, security, and administration of SSA’s UC environment.
Ability to evaluate and provide recommendations on new or existing telecommunication technologies for integration into SSA’s UC environment.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
Nine or more years of experience in networks, LAN/WAN or management information systems
Experience working with multiple technical platforms (e.g.; mainframe, two-tiered client-server, three-tiered client-server) and multiple network systems (e.g.; Novell, Windows NT, etc)
Experience working with network systems and networking principles, data, voice or video
Experience working with network software and hardware, data, voice or video
Experience working with proprietary software and hardware
Possess Department of Defense (DoD) security access and/or security clearance
