Job title: COOP and Disaster Recovery SpecialistLocation: MarkCenter (Alexandria, VA)Security: SecretCertifications: NoneRequired Education: Bachelors Degree Minimum Years of Experience: 7 Years Additional Info: None Job Description: Serve as the lead in planning, preparing, testing, and executing OSD/WHS business application Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery. In developing and implementing plans, the primary focus of the person in this position is COOP and Disaster Recovery (DR). However, the COOP and DR Specialist collaborates with other team members to take other disciplines such as enterprise architecture, business processes, standards processes, documentation requirements, IT infrastructure, and software tools into consideration. Responsibilities: Provide subject matter expertise on COOP and disaster recovery including the fail over of business systems. Provide strategic and tactical guidance and serve as the client advisor for COOP and DR. Develop COOP and DR policies, plans, and procedures and ensure compliance with Federal and DoD and OSD/WHS COOP guidelines. Develop, maintain, and implement business systems COOP plans, disaster recovery plans, and other contingency plans. Maintain Mission Essential and Mission Support designated systems in COOP readiness status. Plan, prepare, and support all COOP and DR activities. Perform fail over testing and system recovery on designated systems in accordance with Government processes and procedures. Interact regularly with clients on COOP plans, priorities, tasks, and recommendations. Provide the client with a written report following all COOP, DR, fail over, and system recovery tests. Work with customers to establish and maintain excellent working relationships, resolve issues, and promote team services and capabilities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters degree in a related field is a plus. 7+ years of experience creating, supporting, or executing federal government COOP and DR planning and operations. Required Skills: Ability to initiate and sustain trusted senior-level sponsor relationships. Understanding of public sector enterprise planning challenges, processes, and practices. Ability to assess the strategic landscape while also having the willingness and ability to perform hands-on, deliverable-based tasks. Ability to drive project timelines to completion with a cross-functional team. Ability to develop and present content in a concise, professional manner. Strong computer, analytical, and research skills. Desired Skills: Professional certifications and credentials desired, such as CBCP, CEM, etc. Broad understanding of government mandates related to business and technology management. Knowledge of federal government IT legislation, policy, and drivers, including the Clinger-Cohen Act, OMB Circular A-130, and electronic government. Knowledge of DoD and Federal Enterprise Architecture frameworks and implementation. Other Qualifications: Commitment to excellence and high standards.
