Position Summary Working under the supervision of more experienced staff,
performs standardized laboratory assignments. Provides routine technical
support in the conduct of laboratory and field experiments and tests. Duties
and Responsibilities Calibrates and/or operates standard laboratory equipment.
Conducts routine laboratory and field tests and experiments as detailed by
researchers or more experienced technicians. Sets up or installs materials,
equipment and apparatus for use in experiments and tests. Observes and records
experimental test data. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on
experimental and test equipment. May prepare simple charts and graphs.
Complies with security procedures in the performance of duties. Performs other
duties as assigned. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent
plus 1 year experience in a related technical area. Some positions may require
1 to 2 years of college education in a related technical area. In rare
circumstances, education and/or experience requirements may be decreased or
waived if the individual has an extraordinary educational background or
uniquely applicable experience or highly specialized knowledge. Knowledge,
Skills and Experience Ability to communicate effectively. JITC and ATEC
experience preferred. Applicants must hold at least a secret clearance and
eligible to obtain a TS clearance after employment.
