Position Summary Responsible for the direct management of the configuration
management function and professional staff. Builds and maintains databases and
manages efforts for configuration and data management of documents, hardware
and software baselines, and data for acquisition process documentation. Plans
and ensures the development of proposed product design changes to determine
the effect on the overall system. Duties and Responsibilities Manages the
development, implementation and maintenance of configuration management
systems through qualified professional staff. Develops, coordinates and
directs a number of projects of considerable scope and complexity to ensure
that requirements are fully met. Interacts frequently with Program Management
and other functional groups to resolve complex issues regarding configuration
analysis documentation. Tracks, monitors and reports on program status,
progress and performance against budgets. Prepares deviations and waivers for
government approval when specifications cannot be met. Reviews and analyzes
audit information. May audit subcontractors¿ inspection or technical document
preparation procedures to verify compliance with contract requirements.
Provides input to engineering analyses, status reports, letters, technical
memoranda, briefings, and contract reports. Leads efforts to establish new
project activities or identify potential new project clients. Supports
business development activities as required. Selects, trains, mentors and
supervises staff. JITC & ATEC experience preferred. Applicants must hold at
least a secret clearance and eligible to obtain a TS clearance after
employment. Education and Experience Master¿s degree in related discipline
plus 8 to 10 years of directly related experience including
supervisory/management experience. Some project management experience
required. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred. In some cases,
educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years
applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly
specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions
involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market
