Position Summary Under immediate supervision, performs basic tasks required of
electronic and technical assignments on data communications equipment and
systems. Involved with routine monitoring, operating, installing and
maintaining of telecommunications systems. Includes telecommunications, voice
communications and data communications. Duties and Responsibilities Assists
more experienced technicians in processing requests for new installations,
moves and reconfigurations. Pulls and terminates inside cable. Updates cable
database records for voice and data station equipment. Assists with equipment
and system tests. Orders circuits and/or equipment as required. Completes
basic terminal troubleshooting using appropriate diagnostic equipment. Assists
with installing terminals, controllers, and test equipment and restoring
service to nonworking lines and/or equipment to working condition. Complies
with security procedures in the performance of duties. Education and
Experience High school degree and 0 to 2 years related experience. Knowledge,
Skills, Abilities Effective communication skills. Basic knowledge of PC's,
communication cable fabrication, electrical test equipment usage, and telecom
equipment. JITC and ATEC experience preferred. Applicants must hold at least a
secret clearnce and eligible to obtain a TS clearance after employment.
