EEO/AA EmployerPOSITION SUMMARY:The Network Engineer will have experience in providing a common knowledge and understanding of emerging network infrastructure tools and technologies that support the design and implementation of LAN, Datacenter, and DMZ architectures within DISA. Requires a basic OSI layer understanding with primary competency within Layer 3 (IPv4) and Layer 4. Requires some experience configuring, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting networking and security appliances, Windows and Linux Operating Systems as well as other hardware infrastructure. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES):CCNA level tasks to include basic network architecture design and implementationSupport of Cisco, Juniper, F5, and A10 appliances to include configuration updates, software testing, and lifecycle refreshBasic skills and experience troubleshooting utilizing various packet capture and analysis tools like Wireshark and TCPDumpSupport Routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, NHRPSupport various VPN technologies such as IPSec, GRE, mGRE, DMVPN, SSLVPNSupport Layer 2 technologies such as ARP, PVST+, FabricPath, 802.1Q, VXLANSupport other protocols such as RADIUS, TACACS+, SNMP, VRFs, DNS, HTTPSInterpreting and implementing applicable DISA security documents such as STIGsImplement and test network architecture changes and implementation plans within a test environmentMaximize network performance by monitoring traffic flow, troubleshooting network problems and outages, and scheduling upgradesSecuring network system by enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring accessProvide support to the program teamPerform all other Information Technology duties as assigned.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Support the BandD and Government program team.Provide support in writing SOP, White Papers, Plans, and reportsCreates and execute implementation plans.
