EEO/AA EmployerPOSITION SUMMARY:The Network Engineer will have experience in providing network solutions, change management procedures, and escalated troubleshooting capabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience with Layer 2 and 3 devices (multiple vendors), as well as proficiency in Firewalls, Web Proxies, and Email Security Gateways.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES):Configure, maintain and troubleshoot and support Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto devices.Provide in-depth troubleshooting of network systems.Strong skills and experience troubleshooting utilizing various packet capture and analysis tools (ie. Wireshark, TCPDump)Support current routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, VRF), as well as familiarity with potential customer routing protocols (MPLS, EIGRP)Support and implement various VPN technologies such as IPSEC, GRE, mGRE, DMVPN, and SSLVPNSupport current Layer 2 technologies such as ARP, 802.1Q, and VLAN configurationIn depth knowledge and understanding of additional protocols, including QoS, Cos, RADIUS, TACACS+ SNMP DNS, HTTPS, NETFLOW.Interpreting and implementing applicable STIG mitigationsIn-depth understand of Access-Control Lists, Firewall policies, Route Filters, and other exception based permission methodsProvide Tier III troubleshooting support on all network related issues (ie. outages, degradation, or permission blocks)Willingness to be on call as necessaryAbility to install, cable and configure a lab environment to mirror production and test potential changes to the production environmentKEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Support the BandD and Government program team.Participate in regular status meetings with project team.Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors, stakeholders and team members.Exercises a high degree of professionalism and self-motivation using personal initiative to identify and recommend best practices.Demonstrates a continued commitment to professional education and industry best practices.Performs all other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environmentProposal writing technical skillsREQUIRED CLEARANCE:Must be a U.S CitizenActive "Secret" or "Top Secret" clearance or be able to obtain one prior to hireMust be able to pass a national background investigationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:B.S. in Computer Science or Information Technology (IT), or 5-7 years of experienceSecurity+ (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)Experience in a Network Engineering environmentCCNP Certification (preferred)Network Appliance vendor certifications (preferred)NIPRNet and SIPRNet experience (preferred)NA Certification or equivalent work experienceAbility to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectivelyAbility to use Word, Power Point, Excel, and VisioMust have an active U.S. Passport (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)WORKING CONDITIONS:Physical Demands: This position is sedentary, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
