Responsibilities

Develops and administers security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors’ access to restricted records and materials. Conducts security education classes. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.

Position will be a Contract Program Security Officer (CPSO) supporting a member of the Intelligence Community (IC) in Maryland. The individual will be based out of Laurel, MD with local travel to the customer site several times a month.

1. Candidate will be responsible for assisting or creating solutions for the protection of all aspects of a classified program to include personnel, physical, formatting, and acquisition. Ensure compliance and security education utilizing the requirements set forth in the NISPOM, NISPOM Overprint, DCIDs, NIDs, ICDs and other guidance as required. Duties also include supporting classified meetings, providing program management support and classification management support. Develops, and administers security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials. 2. Candidate will work under a program security lead and must interact with the government customer on a daily basis.

3. Candidate will be responsible for oversight and accountability of day-to-day security operations to include Personnel, Physical, IT, Info Assurance, Program Security, and Security Education.

3. Candidate will act as the program liaison with Facilities and other functional groups.

4. Provide backup briefing support to Security Education for the SCI indoctrinations and the New Employee Orientation.

5. Provide backup support to physical security for badges and access control issues.

Qualifications

Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.

1. Must currently hold TS/SCI w/ polygraph.

2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience within security, preferably within Program Security. USCYBERCOMMAND and Personnel Security experience is preferred.

3. Previous briefing experience.

4. Working knowledge of NISPOM, DCIDs, and ICDs (including 705).

5. Ability to work within a team environment.
