You work hard to exceed client expectations for quality and you coordinate project activities to complete every project on time. Like every member of the Apex Team, your role as Program Manager, Construction Services is key to the company's success. While responsibilities of the Program Manager, Construction Services will vary day to day, in general you will often:

  • Manage a $12M program consisting of a specialized industry related to stormwater design/construction, installation of underground/above-ground storage tank systems and construction associated with remediation systems/projects.

  • Responsible for development and management of a team of project managers, field technicians, equipment operators and other related field personnel.

  • Oversee financial responsibilities associated with program, which includes bids/proposals, cost estimates, project reviews and monthly project reconciliations.

  • Work with Contracts and Procurement Manager to streamline contracts, assure work to be completed, limit exposure and protect overall interests.

  • Ability to share resources and work with other internal offices in order to expand and grow construction services.

  • Actively source for new business opportunities with existing and new clients.

  • Attend networking events and professional, business group meetings (e.g. ABC, MAREP, AEG, NAIOP, etc.).

  • Write and review technical reports and proposals.

  • Hire and manage subcontractors.

  • Ensure safe performance of project work and promote a safe work culture.

Minimum Requirements

Great minds think alike! Now that we understand each other, let's sort through the minimum qualifications for this position:

  • BA/BS in Construction Management, Environmental Science, Engineering or other related field.

  • 10 to 15 years of varied technical experience - environmental, stormwater and petroleum-related field a plus.

  • Track record of exceptional client interaction and management.

  • Structure, communication and organizational skills a must.

  • Perform business development activities to support organic growth and continued relationship building with existing clients.

  • Ability to manage, motivate and drive project schedules to maximize efficiency and burn project backlog.

  • Experience with technical oversight, project management, and business development.

  • Ability to engage, mentor, train, and manage direct reports.

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.

  • Business minded and good understanding of project financials.

  • Ability to understand client needs and business objectives.

  • Must possess the communications skills to effectively communicate technical findings to a non-technical audience.

  • Excellent safety record and understanding of safe work practices.
